      Hello all

Hello ladies and gentlmen my name is Chris Chrapko, and I reside in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Here is a little background info on my project car. I have been working on my 1980 Camaro Z28 for the last year and a half, which I have owned since 1995. It originally was an all matching numbers car with a 350, B.W 4 sp, and 3.08 Diff. At this point I am interested in updating it's overall performance and turning it into a pro-touring type car. Currently I have installed a 540 hp, 480 Ft. L.B.S 383 cid. but have found that my for speed cannot handle that kind of power, and the Diff. ratio really does not take advantage of the engines powerband. I am concerned that just changing the Diff. ratio will just make the car a "red light warrior" which does not completely sastisfy my overall goal for this project. I am very interested in installing a Richmond ROD 6 speed but I am not sure how it would fit in the car and it has been difficult finding information on actual fit in the tunnel of the car. Anyway with out rambling on any further I shall enter in many posts in the future reguarding Tranny, Tranny gear, and diff ratio selections.

      Thanks for your time
      C.C

      P.S
all of my original equipment is still in tack.

Welcome! I also have a 1980 Camaro. I will be putting a Gen III 5.3 into it this summer. I have struggled with my current gearing also, but I'm building a kit to install a C4 IRS into it and moving to a 4L60 trans.

Keep the posts coming, I'll keep an eye out and post my progress.
