4l80 info. needed

I can pick up a 4l80 tran's from a low mile motor home real cheap but it has a drum e-brake on the output housing. Can this removed and a standard tailshaft housing installed? Will a new housing be needed or tailshaft?

You can convert this to a regular tail housing, but you will need some additional information. There is 9 different styles of tail housings for the 4L80-E, along with 15 different styles of output shafts. This includes 2wd & 4wd, so we can narrow yours down to three tail housings that you currently have. If you can get me your measurement of the tail housing from where it bolts on to the transmission case to the face of the rear seal flange I can help you determine if you can just bolt on a tail housing or if you will need to change the output shaft & housing. Just let me know what your measurements are. Here is your choices: 7 1/4", 5 3/8" or 6 1/2" , if you can't get the measurement get me the casting number on the tail housing and I can help you.
