GM A-Body 68-72 Frame Vin Tag Location?

anyone know where the vin location on the frame is on the 68 GTOs in particular

trying to decide if I want to fix my 68's frame or swap for another

The VIN could be stamped on the frame, on the top surface behind either rear wheel. It might be there or not. Some people have done 500 cars and never seen one on the frame. I have done 5 and seen VINs on all 5....it is kinda hard to see, but look close and use a wire brush to clean the surface. Look on both rear rails..Also, on the left rear side of the frame, there is a stamp with the frame manufacturer, the MFG date, and the part number/code of the frame.

thanks yeah after I posted on here I found a similar post on performance years saying on the top of the frame rail on the rear between the wheel well and bumper

course with rusty frames it might be a lost cause
