compact 1 wire alternator source

What is a good junk yard source for a GM style 1 wire alternator? I am looking for small size and ease of wiring, its for a GT-2 race car.

gm didnt make a one wire alternator for any car so you wont be finding any in a junk yeard, if you want a cheap reliable internally regulated alternator get a napa pn 66035. Its the same case as any one wire alternator but you have to add a switched power leg to it and a battery sense leg that can just be hooked to the bat stud. That alternator in particular is 78 amps but I normally get close to 90 out of them regularly under full load. If you have any questions on hooking it up just PM me its really easy.

Use one of the CSI 133 late model alternators. They go up to 105 amps and have digital regulators.
If you want I have a AC/Delco book with pics so I can look at the mounting points too.
Do not try any of those "street rod" one wire alternators they dont turn on all the time nor do they turn on reliably.
Had one guy with one that sometimes would and sometimes wouldnt turn on.
What are your mounting points needed and I can look up one for you.
The new alternators are tons more efficient than older ones and you could even use one with an internal fan to make it safer to be around under a hood.

I found an alternator off a Isuzu or chevy spectrum it weighs 6 lbs. It is going on a GT-2 Datsun 240z. All other alternators old, new, big, or small weighed about 10-12lbs. I don't need much of a charging system. The car was run with NO alternator for 30 years, but I want to add an electric fan, which it also never had!

Be careful as some of those are computer controled and hooking up a switch is likely to burn it up.
AS for the CSI 133 alts being 10 -12 lbs thats hard to believe as my old 10SI GM alt was very heavy comapred to the CSI 133. I got one that fit a late 80s Pontiac 6000 with a 2,5 and it was very compact and very easy to install.
