      matching autometers

ok, i picked up some machined trim rings for the factory gauges in my DD. they were supposed to be a good match for the autometer gauges, but arent. my question is, what can i do to take machined aluminum (not coated, polished, brushed, etc. just as they came from CNC) and match the bezel on my ultra-lites?

      thanks

If I remember correctly, Ultra Lite rings have a somewhat brushed look to them. Try sanding the new rings as if you were going to polish them out. Get a nich smooth appearance to them, then instead of hitting them with the buffing wheel use a scotchbrite to get that brushed look.
