looks good. i went a little different route. i wanted 5" guages but not a plastic insert or the 500+ charge on my credit card. i got the idea from KOKAMO (Joe) over on camaros.net. its a mix of 16 and 22 ga metal. all bent pieces were done in a vice by hand and took me about 3 hrs total. i still need to put a little filler on it and prime + paint (possibly carbon fiber). the black is just a quick rattle coat to keep the surface rust off. every panel was welded from the rear so i could grind and refit if necessary. i will fiberglass over the welds so they look clean. opinions??

edit for price: $30 in sheet metal from LOWES.(cut me some slack, it was Sunday. lol)

69SS.....looks good man. I think any guage is better than the stockers the 69's came with. You can do alot with the factory plastic dash and put guages in the AC vent's, but in my opinion, I absolutly didlike the original dash altogether......thats why I made my own.

Chad, excellent work man. Glad I could help you out. It's good to see other people taking on the challenge. Questin: on a scale of 1 to 10 of difficulty, how hard was this? If I were to rate, it would be about a5 or 6. If you know how to uses a tape measure and are handy with a jigsaw or a bandsaw and a welder, you can do this.

Here is my contribution to this thread.....

Again, Chad, good job on the build. 69SS, looking good, post some installed pix when you get it all together.
