      Blower motor woes

Ok, my car is a factory A/C car and I ditched all the underhood stuff and made a heater box/squirrel cage housing for the fan to still work. But all the plug ins and relays on the original box I left off with the exception of one that I stuffed under the dash in hopes that the heater will still work. But it don't! So, what do I need to do to get the fan to work on the factory switch without all the A/C relays and plug ins and such? What are your suggestions without spending much money!? LOL
      Thanks

      Jimmy

Just wire it direct to by pass the AC fan blower resistor unit. Its easy. You will need a non AC fan/heater control head.

Which one is the fan blower resistor unit? And the heater control head, what is that?
      Sorry I'm so stoopid! LOL
      Thanks

If you removed all the wiring, the resistor block and relay under hood your blower works like this, the switch goes to different resistors (metal coils that mount inthe heater box so as to not get hot and burn up) to make different speeds, and the high blower is used to runa 30 to 40 amp relay to feed the blower full battery voltage to the blower.
Sounds like you ditched a good wirinf set up and parts but didnt understand how everything worked.
Depending on your switch it requires a 3 or 4 resistor fan block and a standard fan or generic relay.
Power from ign, key on goes to the switch, then each of the switch paths go to one of the resistor blocks terminals then to the output wire to the fan. High switch wire goes to the relay(which is grounded) and the power circuit runs directly from the battery/power junction block.

Wow! I am going to have to read this (and draw it out!) for awhile before I figure out what the heck you are saying! LOL!
Thanks for the info (and help!).

Oh, and yes I definately took everything out without knowing how to make it work otherwise. But I do have all the factory stuff in the attic. I took it out and made a blower "box" when I did the turbos. I kept the inner a/c stuff since I liked where the lines entered the firewall and they were out of the way of everything else.
      Thanks again

The easiest way if you still have any of the wires left for the blower under the hood, if you only need one speed, find which ever one powers up on high. Put that one direct or with a relay to the blower. If you want or need more speeds you'll need the resistor, and a bit more wiring, like mentioned before.
