      clutch???

so im swapping a 400HP LT1 and T56 into my 69 camaro ove the next few weeks.

The LT1 has been pretty hopped up but the trans is completly stock... do i need a stronger or aftermarket clutch or should the one i have be able to work with no problems?

I looked into it a bit but every clutch io found was between 300 and 500 dollars, and i be broke! haha

      any recommendations.

Using the Lt1 and Lt1 tranny, You have to use a Lt1 clutch which is $500, I would use a Spec stage 3.

Stage 3 is too grabby for my tastes. It's great for drag racing. For street driving, I like stage 2. Just remember, it is not a drag racing clutch. So if you drag race it with slicks, don't get mad that it doesn't hold after a few hard launches. It will be fine on the street though. Stay with a steel flywheel. I like my aluminum but also miss my steel.

You could always go with an LT4 replacement setup if the car is mainly street driven. This will drive like stock and work very well but again it's still a stock clutch.

LT clutches are unique and unfortunately choices are slim and pricey.
