      wilwood help

      has anyone done a wilwood set up. we are in the last stages..i am having a problem with the rear brake line male end going into the female Wilwood master cyl. The front lines go in with the wilwood adapter, but the rear wilwood adapter doesnt fit nor will the stock fitting.....anyone have any thoughts?

      You will need to find a 9/16 to 1/4" inverted female adapter for the stock rear line as it is 1/4", the front lines are 3/16. Weather head should have it, any parts store.

      Strange how the front fit right in , but the back didnt....I had to find 3/16 to 3/16 inverted female tapered for the rear lines into the calipers...

      look at stock car brake line adaptors they will allow a hard line to hook up to a -3 or -4 AN flex line to your calipers, you are putting a flex line off your calipers...right? if not you should so that the caliper can be unbolted without removing the line just like the fronts

      Typically there are two adapter choices for the front and rear connection points you can use on a tandem Wilwood (4 adapters given in the box). The front connection can either be a 3/8-24 or a 9/16-18. The rear connection can either be a 3/8-24 or a ½-20. Mine had all the right parts if I was connecting into stock Chevelle lines. Did you get 4 Adapters - what model of Master Cylinder? The connection at the calipers should be 3/8-24 (once again assuming stock Chevelle hard-lines).

      ok, got everything connected, bled, I have some temporary BMW wheels on, but on the rear, the lugs barely grab the studs...we didnt put new studs when we had the rearend apart.

      Question is: when i put the right wheels on, will the legnth of the studs not be an issue?

      TBD - worst case you will have to change the studs. But also check the nuts as they have different types which allow a bit more or less grabbing of the threads. You might want to check your rules book if you are racing - some orgs require min. 5 threads showing outside the nut.
