      Perimeter bolt valve cover conversion

Somewhere in my internet surfing I ran across a head porter that had a weld-in bung that they used for doing perimeter bolt valve covers but I forgot to bookmark it. As anyone else run across this? It shouldn't really matter but it was for aluminum LT1 heads.

If you're looking to put perimeter bolt valve covers on center bolt heads you can get an adapter right out of the GM Performance Parts catalog. I think Proform might make them as well. I actually had a set on my old L98 aluminum heads so I could run roller rockers without grinding.

I have a set that I had a friend at work make but I'd rather not use them and two sets of gaskets if I don't have to. They may need a but of clearance to fit under the Pro Magnums.

      Here's what I'm talking about.

JEGS 50120 Valve Cover Adapters 1987-Newer Head to 1959-86 Valve Cover Sold as Pair Item# 555-50120 Only $129.99

      or
      GM Performance 24502540 Valve Cover Adapter SB-Chevy Item# 809-24502540 Only $155.99

They both use an o-ring instead of a second gasket. I did have to grind them a little bit to clear the trunions though. Other than that they worked great for me. Hope this helps!
