      10 inches ?? Please...

Complain when you get 72+ inches. Every one has become complacent. Throw your memory back to the days of the storms we had in the early to mid 80's. Those were storms... 10 inches is a mere dusting.

      snow

Seeing as how I'm now banished to Maine,... yeah, we got some (still getting it). The report says we got 10-12 inches... so add about 6 to that photo (it's from Saturday).

      72 inches? 6 feet?

I think that would close down Washington DC for a month!!

The storm of '82... my 220ft driveway was 9ft from end to end... in 72 hours.

I had to go out the roll up garage door to get out of the house. And if I remember correctly... it was 68 below zero for a week and we didnt see a snow plows for 8 days. Hell... that was common back then.

Did you have to go uphill to go to work? And then uphill home too?

Well, I gotta admit the front hit us here in Florida too. The overnight low was 39!! I gotta wear long pants today.

My palm trees are most definitely not happy.

Up here in RI we got 12" on Thursday. The storm started at noon and people left early, what a mistake. There was too many people on the road, the plow trucks couldn't plow. Traffic was stopped, 95 would not move. My commute is about 35 to 45min, it took me 3.5hours to get home and I went all backroads. I was in my 94 2wd silverado which totally sucks in the snow. My boss was able to plow us out. Yesturday morning we got another 10" and we got plowed out again, but now its all frozen solid. I think its 19 out right now. So you guys should hug your palm trees!

Hey Parsons...one more comment out of you and I'm flyin' down to take a chain saw to your palm trees.

Chicane67....where were you living in '82 where 9ft of snow was the norm? I can't remember Michigan being THAT bad but I do remember us getting more snow days in the 80's then we do today. It doesn't matter to me. We get 5 millimeters of snow and I get in a bad mood. I was born in the wrong climate. I am definitely a warm weathered person.

We have enough to seal up the drafts in the garage, the blowing and drifting snow really helped with that. Last night I was in the garage having a smoke, looking at the project and dreaming of the holidays being over so I can get back at it. Thats when I realized the garage seemed warm, I looked at the thermometer and it said 30*f, yes when the wind-chill outside is single digits the garage is a nice shelter even at 30*f.

Man hopefully the snow lets up in the northern Camaro regions.

I know here in southern Ohio, a few small townships had actually declared a SNOW EMERGENCY yesterday, and it hasn't snowed for 2 days!!!! you'd think it never snowed around here by the way people act and drive when the "white death" falls from the sky. Of course I know we've got it easy compared to you Michigan folks!

I was thinking to go pick up a heater for the garage this week -- it's supposed to only get up to 68 tomorrow.

      Love the NE

We got about 10" on Friday and about 4" on Sunday which turned to freezing rain. Now its about a 1/4" of ice on the lawn. Got to love CT. I remember when I was a kid... Yah the snow storms were really bad. I used to jump out a window just to shovel infront of the doors! It was fun then, I would hate doing it now!
If you guys down south would like to play in the snow you can stay at my place and shovel a path to my shed...

It was 60F in downtown San Diego today, I put on a hoody.

If it drops another couple degrees I might consider pants.
