      Caddilac LQ9 question

I found a 2004 6.0L lq9 cadillac escalade motor for sale on craigslist for a reasonable price, but I cant seem to find any info on the throttle type. Is it drive by wire or cable actuated?

No problems with converting to cable from DBW. Just be sure to have the PCM tuned accordingly. If you're having someone else do the harness, make sure they know of the change as well.

The 03-05 Silverado SS did, the LQ9 is just the High output vortec 6.0L, and what ever had the vortec max option came with the LQ9 motor.

It has been covered above, but since you asked I had an '03 Silverado SS. As others have noted, the LQ9 came in the SS and eventually the Vortec Max. It was premium only (higher compression), while the LQ4 was okay with 87. Pretty sure the HP was 345 vs. 300.

pistons and rods where different in the 9's. That's how they increased compression versus using a smaller cc head. The rods are just stronger but the same length between the two.
