Think that car was sold already. I also think it was finished and sold again.

Weird that they would sell it because it's a good tool to have to show off all their components and how they attach. But I gotta imagine they just got tired of dragging it all over the country. And all that weight in the trailer probably doesn't help the gas mileage either.

You guys think it was worth 42K?

They sold a different one (the previous one) last year. Then they built this on to show off thier new stuff.

Maybe they are going to build another one to show off even newer stuff.

When you start adding up all the parts it seems like a good deal. That doesn't even take into account all the labor to install the parts like the quadralink, mini tubs, etc.

14k for the body, 14k for all suspension, about 6k for brakes, 1200 for tires, 4k for wheels so that right there is 39200...i know those are very rough numbers, but considering all the small accessories you also get, the labor is already done, that seems to be a pretty damn good deal...perfect if somebody has got the cash to put down!!!

well you can bet DSE does not pay the full price for those parts. I would expect a 50% mark up on there parts and 30% or more on the other parts. I am sure the labor is figured in there.

well of course im saying for the amount the average guy would be paying for all the pieces would probably exceed the 42k mark when including labor, shihpping and all the smaller things

Right. It doesn't matter what DSE paid for the car, or has in it. The question a buyer would ask is "Am I willing to pay $42K for the ultimate project starter car?" or "Can I get a better deal elsewhere for such a car body?".

I'll bet it will sell quickly.

hmm, the painted 69 in the classifieds seems like a better deal at $35k and it has been trashed on. Now the DSE car may have some better PT parts but it is not a "real" 69 camaro and i am sure it will needs lots of work before paint. so I think the answer is yes you can get a better deal.

I was wondering that too. In Florida, it can be titled as a 69 Camaro, but there is some red tape to deal with to get a VIN. I'm just sure that would be a pain in the ass!

That hydra formed front end they sell looks great. I do not own a 69 Camaro so I have no idea but are the rails tapered in so you can fit a larger tire in the front? based on the description I believe that is how I am understanding it.

That's what I am thinking. You still need to buy the front sheetmetal, fit all the panels and doors (PIA), mockup the drivetrain, then off to paint jail. Plus electrical and all the plumbing.

You may save time, but not saving money.

If I had a car up for sale like that and figured labor into the price, I'd be shunned for it.

Don't get me wrong, awsome starter with nice componants, but couldn't get myself to touch that price for a taiwanese body.
