      1969 Cutlass Project

Thought I would give a run-down of my cars status, and my winter plans.

When I bought it about 2 years ago, it was a pretty basic car. Rebuild 350 Olds engine with a small cam and low compression. TH350 trans and 2.78 gears. Stock suspsension, plain (but very clean) interior with bench seat and column shift.

      Drivetrain:
      • Rebuilt 350 Olds, over 400hp and 400ft/lbs with iron heads and a Q-Jet
      • 200-4R transmission with 3,000 RPM Edge Racing lockup converter
      • 3.42 gears with posi (swapped from my Cutlass convt before I sold it)
      Front Suspension/Brakes:
      • Global West UCA, GW 1.5" drop springs
      • B-Body spindles with 12" 1LE rotors
      • Stock calipers with Hawk pads
      • Edelbrock shocks
      • Stock sway bar with poly busings
      • Stock MC and Booster
      Rear Suspension/Brakes:
      • UMI double adjustable upper and lower control arms
      • Hotchkis springs
      • Edelbrock shocks
      • Edelbrock control arm braces
      • Stock drum brakes
      Underhood:
      • Aluminum radiator
      • Dual Spal fans with controller
      • American Graffiti A/C delete housing
      • optima battery
      • Coated headers
      • Full Magnaflow header-back 2.5" exhaust system
      Interior: Not 'done' yet
      • 2000(?) Camaro seats
      • 2nd Gen F-Body console
      • B&M Quicksilver shifter
      Exterior:
      • Same as when I bought it
      • Repainted by previous owner, base & clear
      • Stock Olds SSII wheels 235/60/15 BFG's
      Winter Plans:
      • Finish interior; gauges radio, floor shift column, 3-point seat belts
      • Brakes; braided lines, adj prop valve, & maybe Hydroboost (depends on budget)
      • Underhood; tidy up wiring, aluminum radiator top plate made, general cleaning
      • Drivetrain; 3.91 gears
      • Install '442' bumper with exhaust notches
      Future Plans:
      • TKO 600
      • Wheels and Tires (17" either Hopsters or Torqlites)
      • Upgraded swap bars (to match tire size selection)
      • '442' hood
      • Repaint... long term plan!

We made a pull to 6,200 RPM and it made 403hp and still climbing!

      Hope you enjoy!

Any questions or comments, feel free to reply. I should have my hands busy and my wallet empty this winter. I have not drove it much at all in the 2 years I've owned it. I hope to be 'done' in the spring so I can enjoy it all summer.

      Thanks,
      Nick

Seems like some nice progress and direction.

Olds definately had nice shape to all their cars. Props for keeping an Olds with an Olds engine.....

Thanks! And I wouldn't ever consider putting anything but a bigger Olds engine in it.

When I see a nice BOP car at a show, with Chevy power... I loose all interest in the car as a whole.
