      Anyone remember Laguna's?

Hi everyone, my name is Jay, been viewing for a while and decided I should join in the fun. My 11 yr. old son Austin (AJ) and I are building a 76 Chevy Laguna. The theme is to build it all in our garage so we can keep it simple enough that we can finish it before he starts driving! We'll do bolt-on frt and rr upper and lower control arms, shocks, springs, and sway bars. Drivetrain isn't quite figured out yet, either a 427cid small block or LSX motor, not sure which. Trans will be at least a 4L80E or possibly a 6L80E if things work out. I work for Comp so it'll proudly have Comp valvetrain, RHS heads, FAST EFI, and TCI trans. I've tried to attach a pic of what I'm starting with but if it doesn't work this time I'll try again later.

Welcome! Looks like a cool project, I always liked that body style. They have a NASCAR look to them and the wheelwell fender flares scream to be filled with big tires! Good luck with it!

Thanks for the comments guys. I actually have two, the one you see has a white interior w/swivel buckets/perfect console/perfect dash, and an odd rear window defogger that's a fan motor in the middle of the rear package tray, and it works! The other one is a 75, white w/LIME GREEN interior, benchseat, trashed but a good sheetmetal donor car. It was in PHR's August issue as the Laguna of the month. Between the two I hope to end up with one great one. We'll see... this site really seems to give great advice as to handling/interiors/drivetrain, etc. I'm a good drivetrain guy, but the rest I'll need help with.
