LS1 temp sender
I'd like to be able to run the factory console temp gauge in my '68 Camaro with an LS7. The obvious problem is that a stock sender is 1/2" NPT, which is much larger than the M12x1.5 hole in the head.
For the heck of it, I cut down a stock replacement sender to see if it could go down to M12. The simple answer is no, and I got to see the inside mechanicals of the piece.
I found some resistance values for the stock sender here (thanks Dave Pozzi): http://www.pozziracing.com/camaro_electrical.htm
Basically, I'm trying to find a smaller sender that I can use. It seems that most later model stuff is not quite right, and I've had a tough time finding any resistance info online. On the bright side, since the stock gauge ranges from C to H, and I have a computer reading to verify the temp reading, the resistance just needs to be in the ballpark. Once I've established where certain temps are on the gauge, that'll be good enough for me.

best you can do is run an autometer m12x1.5 to 1/8 npt fitting. can you run a different short sweep 1/8 npt temp sender? im using the same fitting on my LS1.
