      Renderings?

      Okay,
So I have the concept for my build. Where can I go to get a rendering for it? I see all these professionally built cars where they show the renderings next to the final product, and I always say, "hmm...that would be a cool thing to have..."

Anyone know where I could go to get one made?

I e-mailed Cars by Kris and he never responded. I like his work. I can draw to no end very nice stuff, but I cant do computer rendering.

I just had some done by Carter Hickman. There are many talented guys on this board that can do one; John McBride, Ben Hermance, Carter Hickman, Kris, etc.

I liked these new ones because they look like a photo.

He also does this style of rendering:

Jody....those renderings of your car in the lot are so real looking they're scary. It is amazing what some of these rendering programs can do nowadays. I would say Hickman, Hermance, Pfaff, and McBride are tops in the rendering industry today. You simply cannot lose with any of them.

Oh, and Jody....go with the 2nd pick.

will initially be the first pic as I already have the wheels. Hopefully will be the second one before Power Tour.

Very Impressed with Carter Hickman Design! Called him and left him a message.

Does anyone have a ball park of what something like this costs? I have a solid image of what I want the car exterior paint to look like, I just want to get it on paper first. The interior still needs some work with more ideas.

Cost depends on what you need and what you're willing to spend. One of the best quotes (I'm paraphrasing) about doing design estimates for people I ever heard was by Rohan Day (I think)

"Q:How long is a piece of string?
A: That all depends on what you need it for, every piece of string is different and every need is different."

Generally speaking, it's a safe bet that you will start off with a 3/4 view rendering between $375-$750. Photoshop chops are sometimes even cheaper. It all depends on who you use, what they can offer, what their expertise is, what their experience is, workload, design vs. straight up illustration, revisions, complexity, etc.

The best advice I can give you is, send an email out to everyone who's work you like, get a quote, find out when the work can be done and make your decision that way. It's like shopping for anything else. We all have different styles and things to offer. The best one is the best one for YOU. Good luck in your search.

Ben is right, you have to decide which one of the designers best fits what you are striving to do with your project and what your vision for that project is. There is not one designer that is the best! They all are very good at what they do, they just have different opinions on styling and design. Talk to all you are interested in and make a decision that makes you feel the most comfortable! Good luck!
