      New Firebird in SC

Hi. Been lurking for a month or so just waiting till I finally got my project home.
Picked this 68 up last night after finally finding a buyer for my last little project.
It's definatley going to be a budget build, and I've never taken on anything this involved but I'm excited about getting started and look to all the killer rides on here for some motivation!

Welcome! Looks like a good foundation to start with. Is it an original 400 car? What are your plans?

Where in SC? I'm located in Charleston. Looks like you'll be having some fun soon.
Robert's 1969 Camaro - 2002 LS1/T56, 10pt cage, Global West Stage III front suspension, HTH truck arm rear suspension, Sprint Cup 9" full-floating rear end, Fikse Mach V 17" up front 18" in the back and still working on it...

      Scogin, I'm in West Columbia.
Phil, I't a 350 car. I will probably leave it as that for now. I have a line on a good 400 ram air 4 bolt block that I may pick up for later down the road.
For now I want to get it running, put discs up front, or possibly all around, freshen the suspension. Been lookin at the CPP stuff for all that.

Over the winter I plan on stripping to bare metal and seeing how things are. It looks pretty solid but may need a drivers side quarter.
I do paint and graphics on the side, and work full time in a speed shop so that helps with the budget.
I have alot of planning to do but it's going to be a driver.

      Welcome KevMc.

I am assuming your first name is Kevin?

Looks like you have a good foundation to start with. Though it looks like a bit of slipshod repair on the front of that drivers front 1/4.

Yeah, both are like that and the valence is hammered as well.
Plenty of massaging to be done

Welcome aboard. Good to see more folks building nice stuff here in Columbia, seems to be a lack of classic cars in our area. Maybe they're all in the reconstruction phase like mine. That Firebird looks like a great starting point. This site and Lateral- G http://www.lateral-g.net/ are great inspiration and loaded with knowlegable people willing to help out when possible. Good luck with your bird.

welcome, nice start of a project. I had a '68 Fbird about 20 years ago & wish I still had it.

Steve I'm minutes away from Lexington. Be happy to take a look at the car. I'm no Pontiac expert though.

That would be great. What I am really looking for is someone to give the body a good look over. I just want to make sure its a good solid car. I don't care about numbers matching stuff so Pontiac knowledge is not needed. I can walk you through the spots I am worried about on the Fbodys if you have not messed around with them much. Shoot me an email at [email protected]
