      Time attack events

Does anyone know if there are going to be any places that will hold time attack events next season. I just heard about the Redline Time Attack series, and thought it would be cool if there was something like this in our area. With Limerock, the track at Englishtown (when it opens) and a few other tracks in our area, I think this could be a cool thing to get into. Has anyone heard anything?

You'll have to work up through the HPDE classes to be allowed into the TT group or go to one of the schools for competition license. Or if you already have a competition license from SCCA etc they'll let you run. There's classes for almost all closed wheel cars depending on the work thats been done to them. They use a points system based on the type and number of modifications to the cars. There's open passing (no point by required) during the run sessions for the TT so if you're cautious about your paint and bodywork you should watch one first. Most of the cars I've seen in TT are dedicated track cars although many still have plates.

NASA has gotten together with the SCDA and I believe the PDA in New England recently and is running events in New England as mentioned above. I've run several of the NASA events at Moroso Motorsports Park and Road Atlanta and they were very good. Excellent classroom training and very good pro drivers as in car instructors. My first experience with road course education was with the SCDA at Lime Rock and was excellent!
The SCDA also ran the XV Motorsports event at Pocono but with much less emphasis on classroom driver education and without pro drivers as instructors in aech car like they do at their regular events.
