Wheel choice for a '55 Chevy

Finalizing the exterior on a '55 Chevy and Allkar was kind enough to change the color to a yellow that's close to what I want and add a '55 Nomad rear wheel opening to go from this...

      to this...

Although I like the wheels in the image, but I'd like to do something different. If anyone has some images of wheels that could enhance the look of this shoebox, I'd like to see them.

      Thanks,

The factory had the look all figured out. They designed the right size wheel for that car to scale.
      The 15"........................................
But that's just my opinion. Street experience tells me the 15" wheel/tire combo rides better and offers fantastic handling with a capable tire like the Firestone Firehawk PV-41.

I like this site for wheel ideas.

It all depends on the look you want. If you're interested in any of our wheels, just let me know and I can get you a quote. We offer both 2 piece and 3 piece forged billet wheels. We can do any of our wheel styles with powder coated centers if you like that look as well. The websites for our 2 piece and 3 piece are in my signature. Here's a shot of one 55 and a pair of 56's that are on our website.

...we also have a tool on our website that allows you to see how the different wheel styles look on different cars. We have a 55 post that you can change the color and wheels on. Here's a screen shot from the tool as well as a link to the tool.

I honestly think Intro's looks the best on Tri-5's. Here's some pics of a local '55 with them and it is just killer:

Thanks for all the great links that helps.

Just starting my research, but one I liked was this on the Prodigy '66

      Vette yesterday.

They are Forgeline SP3P 19's and 20's which I know nothing about being

      'wheely iliterate'

Whatever ones I finally settle on it will be a 17" or 18".

For what it's worth I have had 18 and 20 Budnik Mercury 5s on my '55 Nomad since 1999 and I think the way that rear wheel opening works the best on a '55 Chevy is without that 1/4 molding. Just a thought but take a look at moldings on a Nomad they stop at the end of the door. Don't get me wrong a decent set of '55 Nomad moldings (the eye brows - fenders and door spears) can run over 5K however I think there is a reason those unique rear wheel openings had a unique set of moldings.

      JV,

I really like the Nomad quarter.

If I was going with a solid color I wouldn't use the trim over the rear wheel. However, going two-tone I feel I need that trim, and I asked Allkar to move it up higher on the 'Nomad' style rear wheel opening when he photoshopped it.

Didn't mean to be critical I was just bring out a point. I fully understand you want to be able to break up the 2 tone. Take a look at ALL the tri five Chevies. There were several variations of the 2 tones and the moldings. OL'55's catalog has pictures of all of them. Maybe you can find something there that will work without too much modification. I'm sure the car will look killer no matter how you wind up pulling it off. Good Luck with your project.

I agree these wheels would look great on your tri five.
A polished or chrome wheel is to Blingy for your ride.
I would love to see these photoshopped on your car.
