Carpet mould
Found the drivers side carpet starting to show black marks ,it's a red carpet from NPD , this has only been in a few months , last 1 went the same way but the car leaked. Anyway cured the leakes fitted the carpet now this happenes, it has not happened on the pass side so it must be from my shoes or boots. The car has only been driven a few miles but now the weathers damp
,have removed underfelt.

10-18-2007 #2You can try Fabrize. You have to soak the carpet and the padding. Bleach would work, but probably discolor the red.

Yes i had them in with the old carpet it was when i lifted them that i found it thats why i have not fitted them back down.
10-19-2007 #5Are you using the factory style tar backed insulation underneath? It could be going bad and the tar like substance is bleeding through and causing the black marks.
