      Visqueen???

I am looking for the white "plastic wrapping" that comes on new car hoods and fenders from the factory...I believe it's called Visqueen...

Anyone know where I can get a roll or two of it?

are you looking for it to be sticky? or just plastic..cause any lumber yards will have it they use it to put under concrete for a vapor barrier..

Another alternative would be to use stretch wrap like they use on stuff that are shipped on pallets. Just wrap it all around the hood etc. You can find those at places that sell shipping & packing supplies usually.

Not the same stuff. Shrink wrap is a thicker material and has no adhesive.

There are types that have a VCI on one side to help prevent corrosion formation. McMaster Carr carries it.

If it is a steel component you may want to consider using LPS3 as a long-term rust inhibitor.

Lowes, Home Depot, carpet installation stores, RV dealers, all have carpet protective plastic, called different things, but all have sticky side. I have a roll or two, but would not be worth shipping to you. Better to buy it locally.

They have a similar kind of stuff at hardware stores and home centers for carpet protection. Sticky on one side. Long term regular shink wrap might be better. The adhesive kind might stay stuck. Even the dealer stuff can be a bear to remove after a while.

I would recomend NOT using anything like that as it may damage metal/paint,,,seen it do this.
Best thing is a soft wrap, ina sealed bad with a pack of desicant in it.

Visqueen is a plastic vapor barrier that is used in construction. It comes in all differant mill thicknesses from 1-10 mill. Why cant you use vinyl adhesive sheet. You know the stuff sign shops cut letters out of.

This is the stuff that GM uses to wrap their vehicles or put on the hood, trunk, wheels, etc.
