      From Coupe To Roadster?

I have a 87 monte carlo ss that I just bought and I want something different. I want to make it a roadster, keep it with no roof. Is it possible to restore the strength lost from cutting the top off? If so what are the areas that need reinforcement? Would it hold up in an accident without folding up?

      Isn't it a full-frame car??????
Could probably box in the inner part of the frame, going from C channel frame to a box frame.
Might be a lot of work if it doesn't need it. If you plan on big power or carving the twisties, then it would be a good idea.

i boxed the frame on my malibu... and it is a no brainer! it will stiffen more than enough to cut the roof... i also added aluminum bodymounts, with no adverse effects... but it ties in the rockerpanels to the frame and makes for a much more modern feel to the ride
