      Totally OT, but good..

I know this is OT, but if you have ever known anyone that has had a child go down in a pool, this will amaze you!

Very good info, definitely will pass this on to family and friends. Looks as though there are some instructors close to my home too.

A kid should never be put in that position. A high deadbolt and a child proof fence are not negotiable with children.

Wow,ok. That is amazing and impossible to watch all at the same time. This is why we don't or will never have a pool at our house.
As a parent, that is one of my greatest fears. I've sent my child to swimming lessons as soon as he was able, but I don't think he'd float.
I'll have to look into that method for my 1 year old.

As a father, seeing the little boy crying in the water ('safely' floating or not) is unbearable. I agree that children should never be in the position illustrated in the clip, but being prepared is what I am all about (as an Eagle Scout and 5 year Scoutmaster) and highly recommend that anything that can be done to further aid survival skills is essential. Isn't that what all of us as parents are required to do, teach survival at all levels. I am definitely looking into this!

I think this should be moved to the Off-Topic forum. Much more exposure than the "Multimedia" forum.

When the time comes for me to plant my seeds, I think I'll skip the pool for a while, until they're all 4+ yrs. Still great to know that this can be done.
