Track day
Has anyone ever been to a track day at Texas Motor Speedway? This is something I am very interested in doing. A friend of mine just got back from a GoodGuys meet overthere and got to make some laps in his ride. That meet was a '72 and older meet, so I didn't go. Mine's an '85 El Camino (too new). I've never done anything like that, but it sure sounds like fun! I don't even know if they have an open track day for street cars, but it's got to be a blast.

Most open track events are for street cars, as opposed to race cars. Some will have time trials at the end of the day, which is basically who can run the fastest lap at the track, but that's not typical.

Thanks, just interested in giving that a try. I have a niece that lives about ten miles from the speedway. That would make a cool road trip from down in SouthEast Texas.
