Are you planning on keeping the heater or deleting it? it is not clear in your post. If you are deleting it, you can get a delete panel from Detroit Speed.

      Oh, and welcome!

I used a DSE panel, and I just was'nt happy with the look. I removed it and installed the panels from Mikes.. Really cleaned up the firewall. They have a left and right panel for smoothing both sides.

I'm guessing he would like to keep the heat, but doesn't know what to do about loosing the box.

I'm in the same boat, I want a smooth fw, but need the heat and defrost here in Jersey.

They only way around this to my knowledge was a vintage air unit. Unless I'm mistaken, please chime in.

my$.02 - not worth the $$$ for the VA unit so I will live with the original box.

IMO get the vintage unit. If you are tight on money you can always just buy the evaporator/core unit seperatley. Then you always have the option of upgrading to A/C later. I think the Gen 1 box was around $500 a while back.
