Some progress on "Rode Hugger"

Installed DSE RS headlight motors, new bumpers, and a front spoiler. ( plus a fine PT.com winshield sticker, thanks Larry)
I did a quick 'n dirty paint job on the quarter panels, rear panel, and front fender lips. I tried out the "Paint shop" hugger orange, from Dupli color. Its just a temporary fix, not a final finish. I just wanted it to look a bit better than the primer on the qtrs. It came out O.K. after some 1000 grit, and polishing.
This is at the Monrovia car show this past Saturday.

Thanks guys. Its definitely not a show car, but it looks a lot less rough than before.
Now I need to get busy on a roll bar, seats, and harnesses next. I'd much rather spend the day driving around a road course, or up a canyon, then pay an entry fee to sit around at a show all day. But it is fun too look at all the other cars. BTW 650 cars registered for that show.

Steve, My roll bar came from AME, really fit well. Also, I used a swing out kit from Chassis Works for the harness bar...nice piece and really handy if you want to access the rear seat.

Looking very good, can't tell it was a temp fix in the pictures. Love the wheels and the stance.

Rybar, the LT1 has run flawlessly, I am always pleasanty surprised by the thrust when I get into the pedal, and it sounds kick ass at WOT. not sure of the power 285 stock + K&N filter, cold air intake, headers, 2-1\2" flowmasters, no cats, PCMforLess tuning.

PaulK, the frame is a nice setup, it feels VERY solid powering hard through corners, but its a little twitchy on the freeway, I'm going to try a bit more caster. I think its mostly the wide 265 front tires, following all the groves they drag into the freeways here in So. Cal

Tony, thanks for the roll bar info, I'll take a look at Morrison. Does yours fit tight to the headliner/rear panels?

From the looks of it you should invest in hood locks. Someone stole your carburetor and air cleaner.

I've always really liked your car and it looks great with the mods you did.

I'd say your LT1 is pushing 300-320 rwhp with those mods. They are good motors and make lot of torque.

Steve, the main hoop does fit nice and tight to the panels and it comes extra tall so you can set the height you want. I went with the angled rear down bars.
