How do you open your straw

Just curious how most people open their straw for your drink.

If I do have to use a straw while eating fast food, which is rare, I just pound it on the table to get the end to break through the paper then pull the paper off.

I give it to my son who tears off the end of the paper then blow-darts the rest at his unsuspecting mom.

Yeah I have plenty to work on too.

Every time I go to lunch I see most people pound the straw on the table until it sticks through the paper & I am one that rips the paper in the middle & pulls it off both ends & just wonder other people do.

MrQuick, If "we" have so much to do, how come you are answering my sill question? LOL

Actually Samckitt, I may be the only one that does something like what you do. I tear the paper around the straw about an inch from the top then pull it out of the paper kinda like a sword out of a sheath.

That is the 'In-N-Out' style of doing it which is what I do. I liked the idea that fingers never touch the straw that way.
