DIY LED's
finished up my tail lamp install on my car tonight. 4 trailer LED lamps cut up for the circuit boards and 16 LED mirror assemblys out of GM trucks and this is what i have. deffently going to be able to see me stop no matter how bright it is outside.

Looks great. How do they look during the day turned off. I know that sounds strange but since you can see the difference between them and bulbs, I always like to see LEDs during the day also. I hope to do LEDs to my 79 one day similar to what Year One did with the Bandit cars.

corvette, thats next on my list. i'm going to align it tomorrow after work unless we are slow then i'll just mess with it all day.
WS6 ~ this is with them off, you can see them just hardly when you look for them but with the flash of the camara you can see them pretty good.

Doing mine the same way. Luckily for me the 4" trailer ones are almost a direct bolt on for me.

What trailer lamps are you using? Do you happen to have a link to them? if you could share a parts list it would definitely be appreciated.

WOW!!! When you hit the brakes do you say "FLAME ON!"
Looks good! They don't have that "pointy" look that a lot of tailight kits have! Good job!

i don't have part numbers for the 4" LED's but i got them at Advanced auto parts. they are the LED brake/marker they look like this http://www.trailerpartsdepot.com/mmN...s/STL-72RS.GIF
and can be found in alot of auto part stores and truck stops. it took 4 of them for my car.
as for the brake lamps that made them super bright you would have to buy 16 mirror glasses that come with turn signals in them to get those LED's, it took me 4 years of digging in the trash at the dealer i worked for to save up enough to make them. if you work at a chevrolet or GMC dealer then you can get them out of truck mirrors after they do the 30 day warranty clear thing, if you don't work for one your prolly S.O.L.
