      Coated headers

Can you flex them as mine on the passenger side hit the floor when bolted ,why there different heights I do not know as the drivers went straight in which i thought would be the problem side.

      What kinda of car ?
Is this for your '67 Camaro LT1 ?

      Were they custom made ?
Is your floorboard sagged or sagging ?
Are your body to frame/subframe mounts collapsed ?

Most off-the-shelf , standard design headers fit well enough.

And most off-the-shelf headers ( Hooker , Hedman , etc.) are 1/2" lower on the drivers side.
      I don't know why.

The headers are summit part number G90001-9
Car is 67 camaro 94 LT1 corvette, sitting flat 1 1/2 higher due to oil pan of a vette which is deeper.
      New poly subframe mounts.
Due to the engine being flat not angeled I expected the headers to poss hit so I fitted the drivers side first and they went in a dream , went to fit pass and they hit the floor , checked agaist the old one's I made and the new one's kick up about 1". What I have do is bolted the old drivers side to the new pass side, what I intend to do is clamp the old one's in a vise and put a plastic coated tube in to the collector of the new one and flex it till it matches. There's a pic of the headers in the project up date titled 69 pontiac.
      Hope you can help

Paul, wouldn't it be easier to use a F-body or impala oil pan instead of the vette one? I am running impala one with the dynomax headers and don't have any clearance problems.

I would have done but 9 yrs ago when I fitted the engine but nobody told me at the time there was a depth issue when speaking to street and performance as I and they could not understand why the engine was hitting the crossmember or when raising it the gearbox ie 4l60e hit the tunnel so I remove bulk head and tunnel and fitted new 1. Then months down the line it came up that I had a vette oil pan by then it was to late.
