      T,
Congratulations on child number 3. "Life is what happens when you were making other plans" That's a John Lennon quote. He also said: "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination" AND "A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality"

Okay, I'm feeling sappy this morning. And I have that "not so fresh" feeling from the 14 oatmeal raisin cookies that I ate last night. Sue me. Point is, I would very much like you to retract the word "dead" as it relates to the word "project". The project ain't dead. The deadline is dead. And without that RTH4 deadline, you would not have made it this far. The engine/trans might not be in the car. You pushed to get it done, and life pushed back. RTH4 or not, you're ahead of the curve.
As for dreaming together, I suggest that you post a comprehensive list of remaining parts and tasks, so that we can look at the project as a group. As you make the list, label the status of parts as either in-house or need to buy. Try to prioritize it, but don't go crazy. We'll tweak it together--including new milestones, but excluding dates. You will ultimately need to fill in the dates yourself based on budgeting, but we can help you formulate the project's direction (i.e. rugs vs. exhaust). We will also go back and list major milestones that are already complete. I take my car apart every year. I always start a new plan by listing a few completed tasks. That way I can cross them off immediately. In turn, the public exercise will help others build their own plans.

You will not be done with your RTH4 project, until you formally re-assess the plan.

I don't even like John Lennon.
