      Chain Reaction Update

" It's Aliiiiiiive! " I have about 100 miles on it so far. Driving old iron with a modern drivetrain can't be described, it has to be experienced! My plans were to put a pro-charger on it this winter, but after experiencing the LS1 with 4.10 gears I have decided to wait until I have had a chance to road race her next season.

I still have many things to finish, but could not wait to get her on the road. How do you like my parking brake behind the driver seat. a.k.a. 2 x 4.

I ordered all new sheetmetal for the unibody, which sound help keep me busy over the long IL winters. ( roof, qtrs, tail, tulip, door skins )

      I'm a picky son of a biatch!

This way I can dial in the body lines to my standards.

NO NO NO...it's a really really rare early '67 prototype...LOL...BUSTED!!! actually those plates are left overs from the '67 he sold to finance this (see his avatar or pt garage). But I think you should stick the the prototype story Matt.

Love it just like it is, but finishing stuff doesn't seem to be my strong suit. Are those Stewart Warner gauges? Again, looks great.

Yes they are Stewart warner gauges.

The ls1 install is not that bad if you buy all the conversion parts. I fabricated many items and the previous owner had done some also. It's hard to say how many hours I have in the engine conversion as I worked on the suspension, steering, stainless lines ect... in stages, that way I would find obstruction issues along the way between the various systems.

I will say I have in the neighborhood of 40+ hours adapting a 4th gen harness to fit like it was made for the car. I retained Vats, remote functions, cruise, Retained accy power, alarm system, ect......

It's my first install of a rollbar so I don't have anything to compare it to. But all in all it was not difficult and had nice fitment. I did upgrade and get the Pro-street rear bars to keep the back seat usable.
