      89 T/A rear width?

Very long story, so I won't begin to explain, But I need to know what is the width of a stock rear axel for an '89 pontiac fire bird or T/A? Wheel flange to wheel flange. I would assume the same as a simmilar year camaro, correct? Some body's gotta know. Thanks!!!

I've got one in my shop sitting on the floor. I'll try to remember to measure it tomorrow.

I don't know the wheel flange measurement, but it should be the same for 82-92 Firebirds and Camaros. The housing width is listed as 55.75". For ref, 93-02 rear axles are 59.25" housing width with a 65.5" flange to flange width. I thought that somewhere I read the 3rd gen axle is 4" narrower than the 4th gen, not exactly sure on that. Hope this helps.

I got 61 1/2 inches without brakes. The rotors would probably add 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I have this one rebuilt with a Borg Warner posi and 3.27 gears if you know anyone who needs one.
