      Oddball Fastener

I have been to every place hear in town, Fastenal, Home Depot, NAPA, Coronet Bolt and Screw (local store), and cannot for the life of me find a 1/4-20X4.5" or a 1/4-20X5" allen head fastener.
I also spent 2 hours on the internets trying to find some and Fairway Fasteners? are the only one I found that has'em. But, they only sell them by the 100. I need ten.
Does any one have a lead? These are needed to hold my fabricated aluminum valve covers down.

I was looking for similar bolts for my fabbed valve covers 2 weeks ago. I am fortunate to have a fastener place about 20 mins from me. I got them with the black oxide finish from these guys:

...They will sell you fasteners 1 piece at a time.

Give them a shout and see if they have what you need. If they won't ship them to you I can pick them up 4 you.

I went with the McMaster Carr ones today. It's cool they were open on a Saturday. They were roughly half the bolt depot ones.

Another option would be to use studs that are cut to length and use acorn nuts or other type of cap fastener.

Glad to hear McMaster had what you are looking for
