      Turn Key Engine Supply

Anyone have any input? Good, bad or indifferent?

I am thinking of purchasing the 510hp LS2 for my 71 Firebird and just wanted to get some feedback from someone who may have used them or considered using them.

I know a few guys who run their LSX engines in class1 off road race cars, one of which, Chase Racing, just got second in the Primm race last weekend.
One of the engine installed came apart in the first 100 miles of testing. Turnkey pulled it apart and found a defective rod. We had only 1 week before the Baja 1000, but they gave us an engine they just finished for another customer, who was in no hurry, straight across, on the spot. It was even built for 100 hp more than the engine we blew.
First class customer support, all the way. They have a big following in the off road community.

We used a Turn key LS2 500hp motor in the Nova and it is a dream,
came complete with most of the fuel system and all the wiring.
turned the key and it fired up... just purrrs at an idle and rips, customer has a buddy with a BBC in a Beaumont and the nova walks away from it.
      i would buy another one.

like it was mentioned above, they have a huge following in the off road/sandrail community. my buddy just put one of their ls2 packages in a rail, and i have to say, everything was top notch, and a lot of parts are included that you dont normally get with a regular crate motor. i would go for it if i were you

It's blasphemy to put that motor in a 71 'Bird. Call Butler or another Poncho engine builder. Keep Pontiacs pure. Not cross breading....

The LS2 comes stock in a Pontiac. Doesn't that count?

Pontiac GTOs had LS2 engines.. PONTIAC Trans Ams had LS1 engines.

No such thing as a Pontiac engine any longer.. Just GM corporate.

      Anyways,

Turn Key Engine Supply is a good company and good guys. And they sell a ton of LSx stuff. I've never heard any complaints on what they sell.

A 71 Pontiac did not come with a corporate Gm motor. Plenty of folks out there still building REAL Pontiac motors.

Now, I do agree that Turnkey is an excellent place to by an LSx motor if that's your pleasure. If I had a Camaro I'd probably buy a motor from them for my car. I'm just an old style guy that believes that A Pontiac that had a Pontiac motor in it should stay that way.

But like the saying goes. "It's your car build it like you want to and will be happy with"

      Off soap box now.
