      Clutch question

Will the clutch that is designed for an 84 - 93 camaro fit a third gen Nova? I have a zz4 with the externally balanced flywheel. Is the throw out bearing different give the Camaro is a hydrolic clutch car?

The third gen has an external slave cylinder, so it still uses a clutch fork and standard throwout bearing. I used a clutch from a 82 (mech linkage) in a 71, it was just a regular 10.5" clutch and bolted to regular flywheel. You shouldn't have any problems using it.

I too would think they interchange. Does anyone have direct experience with the 84 and up clutches. Are they interchangeable except for the throw out bearing?

I checked Ram Clutches website and they list the same clutch set for 82-92 models so you should be able to use it. See here:

I would think I can use it too. I think the only difference is the 82 - 93's use a 26 spline clutch instead of a 10 spline. I'm hoping to hear from someone who's put clutches in the 3rd gen Camaros to confirm this.
