      Buttonwillow Open Track Day

Well..........I finished a big project for my business and the customers were ecstatic with the work I did so I thought I would treat myself to a day off running hot laps! Buttonwillow was having an open track day so Rodger loaded up his Mustang GT and we flogged it around the track!

Morning Crew! (L - R Rodger, Jeremy, Jason)

Rodger coming out of the last turn onto the front straight!

Rodger hitting 130 mph down the front straight!

Me waiting in the Hot Pits for the steward to wave me on!

Down the front straight at 110 mph! I gotta work on being faster than Rodger so that when we finish the car I can smoke him in the corners! My car will be faster than his down the straights but he's a better driver than me through the corners so he'll smoke me in the corners!

Up the backstraight at 120 mph!

All in all it was a great time and a blast to be able to open up a car WFO again! I think I'm going to do that more often!

Thanks for letting me drive your car Rodger! I had a great time!

Just wanted to express how much I missed getting out on the track! It's been awhile and I almost forgot how much fun it is!

I did the full coilover conversion from Maximum Motorsports, I forget the spring rate, but it is was one level down from their race setup. It works good. You should come out with us it is alot of fun. Where are you from?

      Hi Roger, looks good.
Im up here near the San Francisco area. We try to make a track run every year and we are just about due. Clockwise is my favorite format...awesome through lost hill that way.

Larry, It's great that way but watch out entering the front straight. I saw several spin-outs there and one guy hit the tire wall and broke his tie rod end, plus flattened a fender and door a bit.

Mary says there's a Green Flag event there around Thanksgiving. We did that event last year and it was super-nice!

Looks like you had the track to yourself...that's great! We'll be running 2 cars at Buttonwillow on Sept. 29th, would be great if you could make it.

What is running on the 29th? We will be running on the 14th again and the 29th would be fun also. Since the track is 30 miles from my shop.

      Rodger,
SpeedVentures will be there all weekend. Google their website or Buttonwillows. It's a great venu, they have transponders for timing, and 4 different levels of exp.. and lots of Rice Rockets to pass. Hope to see you there!

      WOOHOO!!! What a great day!

I had so much fun in Rodgers Mustang GT that he found another for a killer price that I just couldn't pass up! I bought it and was able to run it today in all its stock glory! Now that I ran it in stock form I can really compare how the Maximum Motorsports suspension kit makes the car drive sooo much better and flatter! I think I'm going to run it stock again on the 29th since today was the first time I drove the car so the 29th is when I can really drive it and not just try and feel it out! I pretty much know where the weak and strong spots are on the car so now I want to try and exploit each one this time out. I'm also getting much better at point of entry into the turn as well as staying in the power band coming out of it!

The new addition to the family!

      Rodgers Baby!

Mick and Dave, Mick's friend, came down from Alburqurque to hang out for the weekend! We met Mick at Columbus Good Guys!
