      1998 dash-into-1967 camaro

Has anyone put in a 1998-2000 dash/console into a 1967 camaro???? The width is perfect!!! Am I the first??
I have my "67 dash out and could use some advice if anyone has done this( modern dash upgrade)
Also any advice as to how to mount the steering rag joint to the older style steer box (flaming river universal joints????)

I put a 99 dash in my 67. I had to shorten the 99 column by a few inches. I was lucky enough to have a friend that worked at a plant that built steering columns. He was able to build me a custom rag joint. I will ask him if he remembers what cars the 2 parts were form. My steering box was form Detroit Speed. Randy

He pretty much "retired" from the site. If you do get in contact tell him to come back. Good kid.

Haven't been bad. I actually changed up the interior some. Put in some Autometer gauges and re-did the stereo and A/C setup. I'll post pics as soon as I can. Working on my stupid LT1...I think I messed it all up. I might just need to bring it in to somone to fix it.

How wide is the dash? I hate the IP in my G body, wondering if the 4th gen f body would fit?

oh, on the column you need to make it shorter. i went to jeg's (down the street from me) and got some double D steering shaft (153-409418 jeg's number) that fit inside the 2002 column i used and welded that on and used a Borgeson steering U-joint (153-014931 jeg's number i think, its for a 3/4 shaft with 30 spline) PM me if you need more info.

Did you guys have to deal with making a filler piece between the new f-body dash and the camaro body?

I would like an overall width measuremnt too, if possible.

i can measure tonight for you, the new dash is less than half an inch shorter so with the pinch weld moldings on you'll never know.

the dash is 54 3/4" with some room to spare. For the filler im just going to weld in a lip under the window support and fit the original 2000 top panel... which i'll cut of coarse.
