      Newbie w/ 70 Chevelle SS

      Aloha,

I've been lurking for a long time and finally decided to post up. I'm from Honolulu, Hawaii and have had my Chevelle for a little over 10 yrs now. Decided to freshen the looks and performance.

Carter Hickman did a rendering of what it should look like when done.

I've been working on the car for about a year now. Parts include 509 BBC, ATS spindles, Baer brakes, 18" Forgelines w/ Nitto rubber, Varishocks, Stainless Exhaust, Glasstek cowl hood, Fab 9 Rear, UMI and Edelbrock rear trailing arms, Rick's stainless tank, and a new Viper Red paint job. Majority of the work is being done in my garage.

This site has been a great source of information. Looking forward to being a part of the pro touring community.

I may be a huge Pontiac fan, but there is just something sweet about a nicely done 70 Chevelle. You have an excellent example. Welcome to the site.

      Sweet lookin' Chevelle!

When I bought the '72 442 I'm working on, there was a '70 Chevelle 'vert for sale in the carport next door to the Olds. Both were around the same price, and I walked back and forth many times before I decided on which one I wanted.

One more thing, thanks for a sweet pic for my screen saver!

Thanks for the welcome. After seeing some of the nice builds on this site I hope learn a lot here. I'm a fan of all muscle cars and am glad others feel the same.

Since this has been an ongoing project I have a few pics to post. (I'll probably start a new post in Project Updates later)

Before I found my challenger, that is the exact car that I wanted. Same year, color combo, everything. Problem was, I couldnt find one at a reasonable price. Glad to see someone is doing one up right.

Cant wait to see the finished product!

The wheels on the car in the second pics are 18" x 8" Front and 18" x 9.5" rears.

The new Forgelines are same in the front with 18" x 10" rears.
