      Back from Alignment

Last week I had the car aligned after installing:
      SpeedTech Upper and Lower CAs
      ATS "AFX" Spindle
New Inner and Outer MOOG tie rods, new idler arm.

I went in trying for 5* caster and -1* camber.
We got the 5* caster but only 0 camber before running out of room for spacers on the bolts. I don't have pictures, but I think we're around 1/2-5/8" of shims. The machine said we needed another 3/16-5/32" of shims to get to -1*. Has anyone else had this problem?
I replaced my UCA bolts with Grade 8 7/16 bolts when I put the new CAs on. Should I just lengthen the bolts, or should I drill everything out to 1/2" and add longer bolts?

      Thoughts from the suspension experts?

      Thanks.

1/2" of shims is not is lot of shims. Are the bolts you used the same length as the originals?

I don't know what kind of car you're working on, but a quick look under the hood of my '72 442 shows enough room for around 3/4" of shims before I would run out of bolt.

      Shiny Side Up!
