572 motor.
Well, it looks like I will be keeping my Nova and I'm thinking about upgrading the big block in it. I really like GM's 572 crate motor (the 620 h.p. version). How many of you have this motor and is it something you would recommend? I woul like all the feedback I can get good or bad so I can make a decision on wether to get this engine or not. Any other suggestions for a potent powerplant are welcome!! I would also consider a fuel injected and or twin turbo option as well. I am not going to race the car, it is just a cruiser and show car. any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

08-13-2007 #2I initially had driveability issues with my 572, but after a month or so of putzing with my local GMPP, GMPP corporate finally came through and helped me out. It turned out to be a faulty Demon carb. I've put well over 3500 miles on my 572 w/o any problems. If you have any specific questions send me a PM.

There were some issues when it first came out but I am sure they have been resolved now. When researching my BBC I was told that to put a lot of boost through one could be a problem as the longer stroke and the short deck meant a thinner piston top.
Yea I know lots will post saying they are running 20lbs + through one but looking at it carefully it made sence so I went for a 540 which I recon will have no less power with the F2. Look at what the blown drag guys are running. Most will be 540ci and for a reason.
