LS1Tech.com SOLD! ... other forums as well

      Are we next? lol

      http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=751874

I hope Tony and John made a bundle.. I would guess it sold for around $500k, based on revenue, but that's just a guess.

I guess this same company bought a bunch of forums including CorvetteForum.

I expect Tony to have a super badass PT car now. ;)

      That's some crazy money.

If Larry sells he'll finally be able to finish that Camaro of his.

...unless the wife wants a new house. LOL!!!

Unless it's like Bill says "Stupid money" LOL!

I really do enjoy the site.

Congrats Tony and gang. That took a lot of time and work to build it as large as it is. I still can't imagine a board that size.

I feel the same as so many people on LS1tech and that is that I hope Tony and John got a hell of a lot for money for their site. Congrats for sure.

thats great. Tony should save some cash for an LS3 site. Call it LS3.com...gotta plan for the future right? Hope the site doesn't change.

      Here's the math......

      $150 x 150 = $22,500 a month

      Around $270,000 a year.

Well...that settles it, folks. We're all officially in the wrong business.

Starting an internet forum is cheap and easy. Having a subject of interest that a LARGE number of people find interesting AND are willing to spend their time each and every day to visit is DIFFICULT!

The rate of website failures or just plain unprofitable websites is LARGE so when you see a site that's successful it is usually one of very few that cover that specific subject that IS successful. Obviously given the LARGE memebership numbers at LS1tech, there are a LOT more people interested in LSX engines than PT cars.

Advertising is where it's at! More hits on the site, more advertisers, MO MONEY! See it's really not that hard after all!

IF those numbers are anywhere close to reality they got more than $500K.

Thanks for the congrats everyone, and the compliments about the site. When we started it in Nov 2001, we had no idea that it would grow as quickly as it did. We had reached the growth potential of the company, as our revenues could not support a full time staff to run it on the front end or tech side of things. With the acquisition, we gain an entire IT staff, dedicated sales, accounting, invoicing, legal, customer service, etc... group to see the site reach higher levels.

We are still operating/managing LS1Tech, but I'm also looking into other things to invest in. I'd like to get out of the offshore oil/gas industry someday soon
