      69 Camaro progress

Hey guys, figured I'd post an update with my recent progress. This round of mods has focused on the front end suspension and brakes.

Here's the car prior to pulling it apart...again...

And here's the new bits and pieces...oohhh...aahhhh

I've found it's a fun game to scatter your tools all over the garage so that you have to hunt for them every 4 minutes like it's easter. At least that appears to be my preferred method

I here ya!! Usually after a couple of weeks I put everything away and tell myself I will do a better job putting tools away when I am done, but it never does.

I didn't notice b/c usually when I'm done I drop everything and leave. I do clean up before I start the next time tho.

I clean up after each task I perform. I roll my chest over, use my tools, put them away, do the next thing, put away. I can't stand a messy work area. Things always go smoothly for me this way. I got it from my Grandpa. When I used his tools as a kid I got hit for not putting things back where they belonged and keeping a clean area.

Progress looks awesome. That paint is real slick!

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

im curious why you went to the trouble of making it and then put crappy fram filters in it?

Thank you for the compliments everybody, and to answer a few questions:

They are in fact the ATS spindles, and they are 18" coys wheels (7" wide I believe, 4" backspace?? with a 245/40-18, got them from Tim at PRRC) that seem like they will have no problem fitting around the Baer (C5 i believe, they were purchased through SC&C and are intended to work with the AFX spindles/SC&C Stage 2-AFX setup) brakes, as soon as I have my roomie [who works for Discount Tire] install the flush-mount valve stems that we have now realized are necessary, we'll be good to go on that front. The short-er ones we originally installed are too long to clear the calipers. Oh well...lesson learned.

Further, to address your comments, Got HP?, I actually didn't go through the effort of making the dual oil filter setup, as it just came with the car in a big box of extra parts when I bought it back in 1999 and I thought I'd give it a go!! As for the Fram filters, you're the first person I've ever heard say anything bad about them in general, so I guess I'm simply ignorant to their flaws. But I'd be curious to here any scientific evidence you may have regarding their inefficiency...The car actually hasn't been driven since they've been installed, but if I (along with the vast majority of the automotive industry) am unaware of their problems, you should definitely share your insights!

Oh, and I don't like to think of it as a mess per say, merely clutter!! No...in all seriousness I agree that things always go smoother when your tools are organized (who wouldn't!!), I just can't seem to bring myself to keep it that way in the midst of a project...lock me up....My grandfather would probably shake his head in disapproval as well (he was a Brigadier General) since he would surely have everything well organized.

And VT, I enjoy making a mess since the house is a rental, or essentially a frat house for gearheads (note the 71 suburban grille in the background...which is lifted 8 inches on 37's with a duramax in the works...yeehaw, good beach vehicle i'd say)

But I should note, I'm really going at this alone with a very limited knowledge base on a somewhat limited budget (I'm 24 and have lots of hobbies that consume $$) but if there is any constructive criticism or advice,I'm all ears as I respect your opinions and input.

Yeah, I've been working in the garage after work most days. It's damn hot!! All I have is a big circulation fan, but it helps quite a bit.
