      Flexfuel and DOD, anybody?

Just kinda curious-- I'm planning eventually to harvest a gen III/IV engine for my car of some sort, and like the idea of utilizing a lot of the factory tech coming out to reduce emissions and emprove economy, like displacement on demand and flexfuel support. So, are there any aftermarket ls-based systems out there that support stuff like this yet? Or, what sorts of extra steps would I be looking at to graft the factory flexfuel equipment and dod stuff onto my car?

I'm guessing that for flexfuel the entire fuel system would have to be replaced, and am not sure what gm engines have displacement on demand right now, but am presuming it would be muuuuuch easier to start out with a dod-equipped engine. I know more or less how dod works, but I'm not sure if there are any external reservoirs or what? Outside of that, I presume the majority of the system is electronics?

Short version: Is there an all-aluminum ls engine in gm's lineup right now that has displacement on demand and flexfuel capabilities? If so, what is it in, and could I yank everything I need from one to use in my car?

There are two all aluminum engines with DOD beginning with the 2007 model year. The first is the LH6 5.3, the second is the L76 6.0. Both of these engines were used in GM's full size trucks and have been carried over for the 2008 model year.
There is only one all aluminum engine with FlexFuel, that I know of, and it is a 5.3. It also has DOD.

If there is a hard way to do something, I'll find it!

From what I understand, you'll need the block from the DOD car because there are some redesign for oiling/cooling issues.
