2nd Gen Resto

Not that it needed a resto, but I've had the car for about 8 years and it was time for a change.
My 1980 Camaro Z28 is an original California car with 80,000 miles on the body.
About 4 years ago I swapped out the original 305 for a 350 GM Fastburn crate motor and re upholstered the interior in a 2 tone blue/white vinyl with new door panels and used SEM dye on the rest of the panels.
The new paint is now 2007 Corvette Silver and the interior will be upfitted in all black leather with custom 2008 Pontiac G6 seats.
The interior is currently under way which I will be doing all of the custom upholstery myself.
As far as wheels, I think the factory wheels that were repainted look pretty sweet ,however I have already ordered custom wheels from Budnik and should have them in a couple more weeks from there we'll drop the suspension 2 inches and will hopefully have it ready for the Woodward cruise in August.

Looks good. I've got an 81Z and I'm working on the interior right now as well. 1995 T/A seats, new door panels, carpet, and autometers in the dash. Next is wheels and suspension. I love the 78-81 second gens!

Cool car. I love those late 2nd gen cars up to 80, the 81s need the computor crap thrown out. They are great looking cars. Look forward to seeing it with the new wheels.

Looks nice. What springs are you using to lower it? It's hard to beat the Hotchkis package on a second gen. Love the silver compared to the white.

Parkerprint- I'll probably be going with Hotchkis. I've done a ton of research looking for tire/wheel combos as well as suspension mods but I'm coming up short when it comes to finding good pics of really good looking ,pro-touring 80-81 Camaros

Well I finally had the suspension lowered using the Hotchkis 2' drop springs. It took 8 weeks to get the wheels from Budnik and they were well worth the wait.
I also just finished the custom designed trim work on my passenger seat which is a modified 2008 G6 seat.
Will post more pics when the rest of the interior is complete

Where are you located? That car needs a feature and you just don't see many nice ones from that era.

Those wheels are nice! They really set it off. Are you going to redo the factory stile stripes or leave it as is?

I dont plan to put the stripes back on.
As for the tires
245 45 17 up front on 8" rims 4.5" bs
285 40 17 rear on 9.5" rims w 5.5" bs

Looks awsome, are you going to have much trouble getting the seats to bolt in, I have been tossing around the idea of upgrading myself, but am not the greatest at fabricating. Can you post a few pics of your suspension mods, and are you having any clearance issues? (I assume you are running headers).

I had to fabricate some brackets to weld my existing seat tracks to. Then I welded them to the new seat frame.
Im not having any clearance issues as far as suspension exhaust , headers etc. Actually ,I still want to go a little lower in the rear.
Ill see if I can post some pics in between the other work Im doing on the car

those wheels look superb, have you tubbed the car at all? have you got a rear picture so i can see how close the wheels are to arch? they look "spot on" as we say in the UK! well done!
