      T56 Differences...

What are the different iterations of the T56?

I think theres a version for the LSx motors (after 97 camaro stuff)

      and a 93-97 LT1 version. What's the difference?

What kind of TOB do each use? Mechanical, or Hydraulic?

Pull off release clutch, or push clutch (old school)?

What kind of steel bellhousings are available? Wouldn't there be a version that will take you from the LSx OR LT1 trans to a first gen SBC?

Basically I have a first gen car (68) and std SBC, and I want to understand the different options. Which one is shortest, and fits in the car with the console the best? Which one uses a hydraulic TOB, and which can use the std mechanical linkage? Are viper (stonger) internals available for any?

Some sort of reference for this would make sense, and I haven't seen it. Seems to be more info for the TKO 5 speed.

      Any help is appreciated!

I read this whole thread, and its exactly the stuff I wanted to know. The end question I have is, if they're using the viper trans with the LT1 bellhousing, how can they use that with a push type clutch? I thought the LT1 used only a pull type clutch because the bellhousing is so short, and there's not enough room for a pusher clutch? They should just tell us SPECIFICALLY how they make it fit....so stupid.
