      The Hammerhead project

Well it's been a while since I have been on here.I have had the vette in storage since I moved and got to bring it home a few weeks back.Since then I have been busy on the transformation. It's commin around.

This was the original drawing for it.

Here it is now!So endure the ugly inbetween.I had to go back and add this!

I went a little more agressive on the nose ,but I think that it needed it.The projector beam head lamps are ordered and will take alot of fabing.

Hammer head rides on C-4 suspension.

Another FUTURE mod for the vette is this REMOVABLE hard top fastback. But this just something I will do on down the road and will just be something cooler than the stock hard top.(For the most part I will have the top down!!)

OMG that has to be the worst abomination of a vette I've ever seen. I feel sorry for that car. :(

I dig the removeable fastback top idea...not too fond of the front, but different strokes for different folks

I'm backing it! Keep it up. Not completely sold on the checkered flag but all and all I'm feeling it. Put a bigger double stack IMSA GTU wing on it and I'll really flip for it.
Any one that would post a negative reply to some ones unique and creative efforts is a tosser. I need to see another internet recipe, bolt it on, giant wheels, 2 tone with an accent graphic cookie, cutter snooze mobile like a hole in the head. Mikey Over Drive, post up some pics of your show piece.

I have mixed feelings. It is very busy but still kinda cool. I have to say kudos to you for not only having a vision, but apparently the fab skills to make it come to life.

Any plans on lowering it or new wheels and tires?

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

to be honest it looks crazy that way..

BUT if you paint it a tough guy paint, like flat black and clean then youll have some real street batmobile asskicker i think.. and throw on a set of nice wheels and call it a day

Easy on the paint guy's,It's only primer and was never intended to be permanent. As for the abomination, the car was destroyed long before I got it and could never practicaly be restored. It had been flared in the 70's with mud flap style flares and some sort of square nose on it.Of course the motor and tranny gone too!Everything else was wore out!Yup, it will look worse before it looks better. However, I have been redoing every inch myself. The c-4 suspension, tilt front and all the mods and motor I have done alone.Anyone with a little cash can have a car built ,and that's cool too. Just understand This is what I want In a vette and I will see it through! We are still tryin to decide on the color.(Wow, I see that we have got some frendly
people on here since I've been gone!)Hey guy's It's cool, you are entitled to your opinion.I wanted to hear some input.(Not put downs!)But I guess some people get a kick out of doing that!Mike OD,I see that these are your first few post on this site. Not a good way to start out.I hope that nobody attacks your 95 caprice like that. It's not a 4dr is it?
Well good luck on it anyway's.brrymnvette,I think that you shoehorning a 455 into a corvair is totally cool! It's probably just as much of and abomination to some seein that they are harder to find that vettes, but for the record I like it!I think that you have done a fine job on it,I'm just not seein where you have room to put mine down.(workmanship?? looks???)I don't get that part.I guess that I'm just from a different time. When manners and respect was worth something. Thanks to all of you for your input. This is a cool site,Hope it stays that way!
You can't build a custom and please everyone! So ya just have to please yourself.

I think anything that looks like it should be in a Mad Max movie is BadAss. Are you keeping the side pipes?

Technically you'd be too busy "tossing"

Cool!!Thanks. Basicly, the car is modeled after the old road racers like the greenwood cars ect, with the exception of the nose that will be very functional.I have liked them old road racers ever since I was a kid!

Nice feedback, after 3 posts this is what you have, I hate to see what happens after 300!! Each and everyone is different, I don't like it, but they guy has put some serious time into the car, plus he is working with the ugliest period Corvette, IMHO anything that he does to it is better than it looked stock.

heh...when I look at that first drawing....it makes me want to sing the speed racer theme song and start looking for Chim-Chim.......it's good that you're saving one from the scrap heap, I've never been a big fan of the C3 vette but hey you aren't building the car for anyone else are ya? the nose is unique I like the headlight idea...imo the center of the hood should have a little more curve to it to match the fenders (the front angle shots look good but the side angles are kinda funky) but its still pretty cool
