      Riken Tires

Does anyone run a set of Riken Raptors?
"Michelin North America Inc. has introduced a new line of ultra-high performance tires -- the Riken Raptor ZR.The Riken Raptor ZR tire has a directional tread design and a "waved" center rib to help channel water away from the footprint; oversized swept-back lateral rib elements for maximum grip during cornering; and rubber compounds that help the tire maintain its shape."

I bought a set in March just for an open road race event I ran in April.Only put about 500-600 miles on then on shake down sessions and 120 miles on race day.Had about 5 minutes of ligt rain in the race ,in the mountains, with lots of turns, they worked great.I have in car video while in the rain that shows the windshield wipers barely making contact with the windshield.I didn't lose any time through that section.

I only run these tire at special (high speed events).95% of the time my car wears 15" + drag radials.

I have a set. 245-45-17 and 255-50-17. I would love to tell you more, but only have a couple hundred road miles on them. They were affordable (I think I got mine for just under $100/tire), and I am a big believer in Michilen, FWIW.
