      Stroker Question, 383 or 408?

I have a '93 roller 351W block that I'm going to use to build a stroker motor for my Mach 1. Right now I have a 408 Eagle forged stroker crank and TFS pistons for a 408 stroker. I just found out a friend will sell me his COMPLETE 383 stroker kit that has the crank, pistons, rods, bearings, etc. for $1000.

So now I'm now debating the pros and cons between the stroker kits. If I keep the 408, I'll have more power (good!) but it'll cost me more money to finish and it'll probably burn a bit more gas. Going with the 383 will get me more stuff that I'll need to buy anyway for cheaper. I'll also have a quicker revving engine which I figure will be good for autocross (which is my intended use for the car aside from street driving).

Anyone have any input as to which would be better?
