Ignition source wire for electric fans

I have asked this question in the cooling section too but im not sure exactly it belongs. Probably in either. Well I installed my spal controller and my fan relay on my core support of my 67 camaro. I was wondering what wire everyone is using for a keyed ignition source. I also thought about running a wire to the fuse box but dont want added holes in the firewall.

A 67 should have plenty of holes to choose from .

Keyed source should be low draw so anything will do. Coil + choke+ But Id put it to the fuse panel ACC slot
Nothing says "I built this" better than tool marks and dykem blue..

I am using a 10 ga. wire plugged into the fuse box.

Are you using this to turn them on through a relay? 10awg is way big for that. An 18awg would work fine.

I hope no one ever tries to run a fan directly from the fuse box.
I have a 71 C10 in the shop now and the owner had someone put an electric fuel pump and wire up the HEI.
The moron ran wire directly to the unfused ign terminals inside and the pump locked up and actually burnt the main fuse link out of the truck.
Also they had a rubber line running right beside the exhaust manifold.
So I get to remake the fuel line in steel, mount a new pump and wire it up with a relay and rewire the HEI plug into the proper place in the harness.
      OH JOY.

I was lucky, I had an extra switched hot that ran the TCS system. Is there anything in your harness that isnt being utilized?
